Lawrence Davis researches postbellum African American literature. Of particular interest to him is the affect of Nationalism in Black creative thought. He teaches course on the Harlem Renaissance, post WWII Social Realism and Literary Studies in fictive Black Masculinity.

Dr. Davis loves music including Hip Hop, 80’s, Hard Bop Jazz and 90’s Alternative bands. In his leisure hours he peruses old tv shows and gets unnecessarily stimulated by Samurai films and anime.

It has been rumored that he is a member of the Raider Nation.

You can catch him during his off hours reading Fantasy novels, Russian Literature, Graphic Novels and Manga at one of our local coffee shops.
