Office: 118 Tyler
Rebecca is the coordinator of the Residential College Community Theater Collaborative (RCCTC) which is a program that trains students to use the arts in communities for social justice. She also runs one of the community partnerships in the collaborative called The Intergenerational Theater Program. Here, she works with UM/RC students and seniors from Detroit’s Hannan Center for Senior Learning to co-create theater based on oral histories and personal narratives.
The RCCTC is currently collaborating with Professor Rich Tolman at the School of Social Work by way of a cross-listed course focus on HIV/AIDS prevention, education, and the promotion of healthy relationships through art as well as a new trans-national partnership in 2008-2009 with Grenada’s Heritage Theater and Ypsilanti’s Corner Health Center Players—both community-based theaters educating young people on the prevention of HIV and AIDS.
