RC Creative Arts

“Our aim is to have students regard art-making as integral to a meaningful life, as natural as eating or breathing.”

—Ann Savageau, Former RC Faculty

We at the RC believe that we’re the “A” in LS&A— there are no studio art classes in LS&A except those that you’ll find here. The RC Creative Arts go well beyond our Arts Practicum requirement, even our Arts & Ideas concentration—RC students have the opportunity to take unique course offerings in our own studio spaces, in addition to the dance and drama offerings unique to the RC.

Past course offerings have included ceramics (with on-site kilns), drawing and painting, photography (with on-site darkroom), holography, media studies, ethnic dance from the Congo and Java, music composition courses, and a breadth of theater opportunities—in short, everything that gives the humanities life.
