RC Republic

The RC Republic functions as the Residential College's student government. Though not operating under the traditional framework of student groups, the Republic has wide influence and works closely with faculty and staff as student liaisons and advisors on behalf of the college at large. In the past, RC students have worked closely with faculty to help make important decisions regarding curriculum, RC requirements—even matters of policy and philosophy. Aside from holding successful and creative social functions for RC students, the Republic looks to have a greater role in the college's presence on campus.

Projects for the year include raising sustainability awareness in East Quad and thereby facilitating campus-wide sustainability initiatives within the building, uniting work efforts between the Republic and the newly created Student Forums, and improving RC Administrators' awareness of what the RC students desire in improving their time at Michigan. Our member number is steadily increasing as we modernize our ideals and our mission.
