President Coleman highlights Semester in Detroit program in 2009 New Year's video address

In Mary Sue Coleman's New Year's video welcoming everyone back for 2009, she highlighted several important milestones about the Winter 2009 semester, such as the celebration of Galileo's life and work through the LSA theme semester, and new buildings on campus such as the renovated Art Museum and the Ross Business School.  She also highlighted the RC's new Semester in Detroit program, which has been launched today.  Approximately 15 UM students are living in the heart of Detroit in Wayne State University residence halls and attending classes at the UM Detroit Center.  The students will also be working with Detroit arts, government and non-profit organizations through internships.  For more information about Semester in Detroit: http://www.rc.lsa.umich.edu/sid/.
